Working Together to Improve Health and Wellbeing

Many of Tasman Connect’s projects begin with people who care enough to stop and say “Something could be done here”.

Our Working Groups bring together volunteers, local organisations, health professionals and community members to explore local issues, share ideas and work together on practical solutions. Each group focuses on a specific area of community wellbeing, helping identify priorities and guide projects that make a real difference across the Tasman. Some working groups activity flows and ebbs over time, as is needed, and other groups form and finish for a specific purpose and end when their work is done.

Whether you have professional experience, local knowledge or simply an interest in improving life in our community, there’s a place for your voice.

Through listening to people in our community and raising concerns and ideas with the Tasman Community Engagement Worker or attending Tasman Voice for Health meetings, you can form or join an existing Working Group. These groups help identify local priorities, share knowledge and guide community projects. Working Groups:

✓ Welcome anyone with a shared interest or passion

✓ Meet throughout the year as is required for the task

✓ Develop ideas collaboratively with local stakeholders and guided by research

✓ Share and represent your knowledge openly across the community

✓ Help provide ideas for solutions to the Steering Committee

All Working Groups operate under the support and guidance of Tasman Voice for Health and Health Consumers Tasmania. Each group works collaboratively with the Tasman Community Engagement Worker and contributes to the shared vision of improving health and wellbeing across the Tasman community.
