LIGHTWAVE

Lightwave is happening on July 11th, 12th, 13th in 2025 and is an annual winter arts festival celebrating ‘people and place’ across Turrakana Tasman Peninsula. Lightwave fosters community connection and collective warmth in the darkness of winter. Lightwave takes the phenomenon of light as a catalyst for the festival’s multi-artform programme.

Lightwave presents three days of music and art events in and around Nubeena in the middle of July. The main event is on Saturday night and features live music, light based art installations, food, drink and community warmth.

Lightwave Festival’s lead-in workshops and school-based programme showcase community generated artwork alongside professional artists during the festival weekend.

Lightwave Festival’s values are:

  • Creative connection to place – through professional arts practice and strong community engagement.
  • New and experimental multi-artform experiences – inspiring innovation and creative exchange.
  • Meaningful relationships with people and place – acknowledging trust, respect and the generosity of the community.
