Whether you are a new Mum, a young person helping out parents, or a family member or neighbour helping older or younger people in the community who have a mental or physical disability, you are a carer.  There is a new government funded carer service available for all Tasmanian carers that is tailored to your individual needs including:

• connecting locally with other carers
• in person or phone counselling
• support planning assistance
• emergency respite care
• financial support

Some of these activities are being set up on the Tasman. The Tasman Neighbourhood House also offers group gatherings for carers.
