Activities are occurring on the Tasman

Chats offers a monthly activity or outing to eligible participants living on the Tasman Peninsula. The program will provide transport and opportunities to get out of the house, meet new people, share new experiences, and develop friendships. If you go on an outing, you will be picked up in the Chats van and have a host who is first aid trained and a driver. Weekly social phone calls can also be set up. While there are costs for Chats, these are subsidised if you are on an Aged Care Package or receiving Home and Community Care. Fees may also be waivered on a case-by-case basis.

Chats is a social support program aimed at improving My Aged Care and Home and Community Care (HACC) participant health, happiness, and confidence. Many of us are living on our own and this program strengthens participant connection to local community through organised activities. This service is for older community members over 65 (through MyAged Care), or over 50 if from our First Nations people (referred through HACC). In addition, it is available for people who are at risk of isolation or homelessness (referred through HACC).

If you would like to speak to someone about your eligibility, because that is just easier, please contact Alison.
