The Port Arthur Historic Site is a government owned and protected World-Heritage site. This former penal colony is set among 40 hectares of ornamental gardens and native bushland, overseeing the spectacular harbour of Port Arthur. Locals have free entry and is a popular location to walk, swim, picnic, sail and enjoy the various restaurants and activities.
